A die-cut window does remove some board area, but strength is maintained through adjusted board thickness and structural design. For heavier products, reinforcement flaps or thicker kraft grades make up the difference.
It can, particularly with low-quality films. High-grade PET is more resistant to both. For food stored in refrigerated environments, anti-fog coatings are also an option.
Standard PET is food-safe for indirect contact. For high-moisture or oily foods, grease-resistant barriers or specialised films are the better choice, as they prevent condensation and staining where standard film would struggle.
